In March of 2017 the sorority decided to create an affiliate group called The Rhosebuds in order to reach our younger group of girls in an effort to plant the seeds early, in order to carry on the legacy of guiding young ladies to develop their greatest potential. Through sisterhood, scholarship and service, members of Sigma Gamma Rho, Sorority, Inc. are mentors, providing scholastic guidance and community service opportunities to Rhosebuds.

The purpose of the Rhosebuds is to help build self-esteem, confidence and character into each of the girls by presenting them with the fundamentals of etiquette and the rules of social behavior. Rhosebuds are in elementary school and between 8-12 years old. 
 

Rhosebuds participate in many of the activities of the sorority as well as special youth development programs. The Rhosebuds program offers the opportunity to learn about their heritage, participate in community service projects, mentoring and develop skills needed to succeed personally and
academically.
