Say hello to the Executive Board of the Theta Upsilon Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated. These eight awesome women are more than proud to serve in a leadership capacity for the Inglewood Alumnae Chapter for the 2020-2022 term.

Christal Young

1st Anti-Basileus / 1st Vice President

Soror Young joined Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. at the University of Southern California via the Theta Epsilon Chapter in the Spring of 2002.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in American Studies & Ethnicity (ASE) from USC in 2004 and her Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas in 2013.  

Soror Young is a Reference & Instruction Librarian for the ASE and History Departments at USC where she is also an associate professor in the Masters of Management in Library and Information Science through the Marshall School of Business. She loves singing in her church choir and veganizing her favorite foods. 

As the 1st Anti-Basileus of the Inglewood Alumnae Chapter, Soror Young is dedicated to supporting “the whole soror” through professional and personal training and development.  She is committed to retaining current members while also reclaiming inactive sorors. She is also excited to aid new membership growth across the Network during her term.

Kimberly Anderson

Anti-Grammateus / Secretary

Soror Anderson was inducted into the sisterhood of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated through Theta Upsilon Sigma Chapter in Spring 2018. 

Soror Anderson received her Bachelor's degree from California State University Northridge in 2012.

Sorority Anderson currently works at a senior admin assistant at one of the top hospitals in the world for 5 research doctors. She is excited to do the work of Sigma.

Akilah Mayfield 

Tamiochus / Treasurer

Soror Mayfield is an esteemed Life Member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated. She was inducted into our illustrious sisteRHOod in Spring 2008 via the "PRHOdigious" Pi Rho Chapter at California State Polytechnic University of Pomona. Soror Mayfield graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Psychology and later earned her Master's in Public Administration from California State University of Northridge. She is currently a Management Analyst for Los Angeles County's Department of Mental Health, which works with agencies to provide mental health services throughout Los Angeles County.

 

Soror Mayfield is excited to serve as the current Tamiochus of the Inglewood Alumnae chapter. Her aim is to ensure the chapter's budget fosters partnerships, enhances the membership's experience, and yields a #Greater impact in the Inglewood community.

Britni Danielle Jackson

Parliamentarian

Soror Britni Danielle Jackson was inducted into the sisterhood of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. through Theta Epsilon Chapter at the University of Southern California in the spring of 2001. She is committed to uplifting women and telling the story of SIGMA and her service to communities of color around the world.

 

Soror Jackson is journalist, editor, and novelist who is passionate about telling dope stories. She’s written extensively for both print and digital publications like Essence, The Washington Post, espnW, The Guardian, and Glamour.

 

As the Anti-Grammateus of Inglewood Alumnae Chapter, Soror Jackson is responsible for preparing and maintaining the record of the chapter’s meetings, as well as managing its correspondence.

Ni'Kysha Johnson

Basileus / President

Soror Ni’Kysha Johnson was inducted into Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. via the Delta Gamma Chapter at San Diego State University. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and went on to further her education at the University of La Verne with a Master's Degree in Educational Counseling.

 

Soror Johnson currently works as a School Counselor and recently started her own Mobile Video Gaming business. As Basileus,  Soror Johnson is focused on serving the city of Inglewood, Building Relationships and Membership Development.

Adrianna Chivers

2nd Anti-Basileus / 2nd Vice President

Soror Adrianne D. Chivers was born into Sigma as a charter member of the Rho Eta Chapter at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) on December 8, 2006. She served as chapter Basileus until her graduation, and then as the advisor to the Rho Eta undergraduate chapter for 7 years thereafter. Soror Chivers has served on the Regional level as Syntaktes Assistant, Conference Vendor Coordinator, Conference Hostess in 2014, and most recently, WR Lead Area Coordinator. She now serves as WR Social Events Coordinator.

 

Currently, Soror Chivers serves as our 2nd Anti-Basileus - returning home to Rho Eta as Advisor.

Kim Sanders

Grammateus / Financial Secretary

Soror Sanders became a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. in the Spring of 2006 via the MAgnificent Mu Alpha Chapter at the University of California at Los Angeles. She graduated from UCLA with a Bachelors of Science degree in Sociology and two Minors in Political Science and Music History. She continued her education in the Culinary Arts at Le Cordon Bleu College in Los Angeles and currently works as a Pastry Cook at the JW Marriott Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences at LA LIVE in Downtown Los Angeles.

 

Soror Sanders is the current Grammateus of the Inglewood Alumnae chapter and her goal is to keep the chapter in good financial standing and obtaining a surplus to be able to service the Inglewood community at a larger financial scale.

Nathifa Rose

Epistoleus / Historian

Soror Rose became a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. in the Spring of 2015 via the Outta Contrhol Chapter of  Xi Rho at the University of California at Riverside. She graduated from UCR with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Media and Cultural Studies and a Minor in Ethnic Studies.

 

She is pursuing her Master's Degree in Humanities at the California State University, Northridge 

 

Soror Rose is the current Epistoleus of the Inglewood Alumnae chapter and her goal is to continue setting the standard and representing the organization and chapter in an upstanding manner.
